Wells In My Art In My Heart In My Soul | 2008-2009
“I was born in Wells, B.C. and lived there until I was five years old, as the daughter of the only Jewish family in town. I drew and painted even at that tender age. The pine trees, the debris and plants on the forest floor, the gardens of sunflowers and the old houses (including my own) were the things I loved and attempted to sketch . . . when I create art about my Jewish roots, the old town of Wells is often part of the compositions that are therefore, part real and part fantasy. Wells is frequently the symbol of normalcy in the midst of unspeakable horror.” (Linda Frimer)
